Happy Friday eve. Just a heads up that the Medicare administrative contractors are issuing revisions to the LCDs for epidural steroid injections and facet joint interventions. The changes clarify coverage guidelines for FJI RFA and repeat ESIs and the changes are in effect as of April 9.

I'll post a side-by-side comparison of the language later today.

Note - National Government Services (now Wellpoint Federal) appears to have issued a revised FJI LCD without the updated guidance. I'm sure they'll fix that soon.

Also FCSO/Novitas have updated their companion billing and coding articles for the FJI LCD and those changes are retroactive to January 9.
