When a patient comes in at the beginning of the year, is it the right thing to collect the patient's new insurance and updated demographics to scan into the chart? Also, every time the patient comes in after that visit, the front desk should always make sure that policy is still the same and if not, collect the new policy and scan that into the chart? The front desk is the first line of defense to collect the correct information and not let it fall to insurance to correct that information and prolong the billing process.

We always get new demographic sheet done at the patients first visit of the year. Any visit after that, we just ask verbally if any changes. If there are address or insurance changes, I print the demo we have and ask them to cross out and correct anything new and scan it in so I can keep track of when things are changed.
