Please help clear this up for our office.
Pt was scheduled for an outpatient upper GI for surveillance of established Barretts...after scope, pt made several comments (coming out of anesthesia), alarming the nurse.
Following hospital protocol, pt's family physician was called in and admitted to ICU, pt was discharged on same day.

My question is:
Is the scope coded as in- or out- patient? Normally these scopes are only done as outpt. I just want to be sure.

We are using codes: 789.06, 530.85
43239

Thanks in advance for your help.
