Wiki Ureteral Catheter placed before Colectomy

A urologist was asked by another physician to place ureteral catheters prior to them performing a colectomy. In the urologists documentation, they listed the same diagnosis as the general surgeon (Appendiceal cancer c18.1). The issue is this diagnosis doesn't link with cpt 52005. The main reason for the catheters was in preparation for the colectomy? Any thoughts as to how to properly code and link this cpt code? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to show the ureteral catheters were placed to protect them from damage during the main surgery? Was the colectomy open or laproscopic?
