Is it appropriate for an UC provider to bill 92002 (LT) (Note - modifier is invalid) with a diagnosis code 918.1? This is a medical doctor and not an ophthalmologist.

Why doesn't he use a E/M code? The 92 codes are EYE codes but I'm sure they are not limited to ophthalmology. Any specialty could use them but it would look funny to me if a gyn used a Eye code.

I bill for urgent cares 4-5 different ones and no i have never seen this and would say no. 918.1 is corneal abrasion i just had one of these today and if he wants to bill this because of a fluorescein eye scan it is a bundled charge. You bill ov at the level which would include the amount of work prefomed 992xx.
