Is there enough documentation in this PICC line placement to code 76937?
Patient prepped and draped in sterile manner. Basilic vein was identified with ultrasound. Skin entrance site was anesthetized with lidocaine. Using micropuncture technique, the vein was accessed. Wire was threaded through the needle. Wire was removed. Insertion sheath was then placed over the wire. A PICC line was cut to 42 cm and threaded through the wire. Sheath removed and PICC line secured to the arm. Good blood flow.

Thanks for all the help

Right now, no. Was an image taken and placed in the chart or in PACS. If so, then you can bill 76937.

No there isn't enough in that dictation. Your dictation must include an example like below. The bold areas are key to be able to charge 76937.

Example: The internal jugular vein was accessed with a micropuncture needle under real-time ultrasound guidance. US images were documented.

Thanks,
