I have an ER chart where a patient broke up a fight. Had a scalp lac that was stapled but also had multiple contusions and jaw pain. Coded 12002 for the lac. Do I use an E/M with -25 for the attention used for the other injuries?

Yes, unless the full exam was done they couldn't be certain he had no other injuries that needed tending to

Thanks. I thought so, too, but I seem to be having a "bad brain" day....if that's possible....and wanted to make sure that I was right. I really hate it when I second guess myself. Thanks again
