Using Registered Dietitian Documentation

A patient is scheduled for an E/M service with our GI doctor. The physician has documented appropriate History, Exam and MDM. Within the visit, the registered dietitian sees the patient for 45 minutes to discuss diet, eating habits, etc. Can the physician use the RD's documentation toward the E/M code for the date of service? Thank you for any and all help!
