The Uvea consists of the layer and structures of the eye beneath the white of the eye (sclera). It has 3 parts:

1) Iris
2) Ciliary body
3) Choroid

The uveal tract is the middle layer of the eye, divided into the anterior uvea (iris, ciliary body) and posterior uvea (choroid).

So coding C69.4X could be appropriate for Uveal melanoma instead of C69.9X series (Eye ball). Any Suggestion!!! Please share your thoughts.

===> Neoplasm table ICD10-CM index leading --> Neoplasm --> Uveal Tract --> C69.4

Your post makes sense to me. I use a coding software (3M Encoder) and it leads me to C69.4X when I type in "Uveal Melanoma". Also, when I type in eye or eyeball there's several options to choose from within the eye/eyeball (choroid, ciliary body, conjunctiva, cornea, iris, etc.). If the documentation specifically states Uveal then I would agree that the correct code would be C69.4X.

Melanoma --> Other/unspecified --> Primary --> Uveal tract --> Unspecified laterality --> C69.40
