Can anyone assist me in finding out if it is okay for an inpatient hopistal to code V57.89 as the principal diagnosis even though the documentation does not support therapy as the primary reason for admission to the hospital. The patient does end up in rnpatient rehab eventually, but that is not the reason for the initial admission to the hospital. If possible please supply a reference also for this question. Thanks JJ
