If a patient presents for a well child visit but during the exam the responsible party mentions the child was in an accident (pedistrian) and stated the child cracked their pelvis, would you add the E814.7 as a dx code with the well exam? Provider is waiting for records from the hospital where the child went in order to determine the extent of the childs injuries.
 
no not to a well child, you need either an injury or a V71.x for suspected injury not found, which can only be applied after study and is first listed only so it cannot be used with the V20.2 as it to is first listed only. So this is either a well child or it is an exam for a pelvic injury.
