Hello,
I am new to coding and have my first vacuum assisted vaginal delivery to code. I cannot find a specific ICD 10 code. I see some answers saying the correct ICD 10 code is O66.5. Many, including myself feel uncomfortable using this as it states, "Attempted application of vacuum or forceps, with subsequent delivery by forceps or cesarean delivery." This was a successful vacuum, no forceps used, with third degree perineal laceration. I appreciate your advice. I believe it will be CPT 59400, but I was struggling with the correct ICD 10 for the VAVD. Thanks, Desiree

Hi, yes, there is no ICD 10 code that applies for a vacuum- assisted delivery, unless as stated the patient ends up with a c-sec or forceps delivery.
