What ICD10 code should be used to repor a vaginal delivery with forceps or vacuum. Provider feels that 066.5 is not appropriate because of the language in the description of "attempted application"
 
O66.5 is clarified with the following statement:

Attempted application of vacuum or forceps, with subsequent delivery by forceps or cesarean delivery
 
If there is a reason that forceps or vacuum was used, I would code for that. I usually do not use this code unless it does end up in a cesarean.
