I work for an ASC and the Dr wants me to code for a Vaginectomy but the description does not fit her dictation and what she did. Here is her dictation...
Vaginectomy:
Attention was then turned to the vaginectomy procedure. The vagina was marked in two rectangular quadrants using the marking pen and then infiltrated beneath, the epithelial layer with dilute Marcaine solution. The Bovie was then used to incise along the marking sites and sharp dissections were used to de-epithelize both anterior and posterior segments that were demarcated. A 0-Vicryl suture was then used in an imbricating fashion to reduce the prolapse and several rows of suture lines until this was done adequately. The vaginal mucosa was then reapproximated in a running 0-Vicryl suture.
