Recently we had a rep in our office. He was selling a product that inserts a coil into a varicose vein to close it off. He calls it embolization/occlusion and stated other offices are billing cpt code 37241. I've been researching as I'm second guessing the usage of this code for varicose veins. I've also had an associate say she was instructed at a symposium that this code is not for varicose veins. Does anyone have any information in regards to the proper usage of code 37241? I'm thinking we would utilize an unlisted code 37799.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
