Thanks for taking the time to review this with me.

Two of our physicians billed these codes on separate surgeries:

Revision of right femoral popliteal artery bypass via extension to the common femoral artery with reverse vein graft. (35881)

Harvest right cephalic vein for bypass conduit. (35500)

Reoperation right lower extremity, greater than 30 days. (35700)

But, in our edits, the code 35500 came up as being a "child code" and needed a parent code from the following list: 33510-33519, 33521-33523, 33530, 33533-33536, 35556, 35566, 35571, 35583, 35585, or 35587.

And the edits for 35700 also came up as being a "child code" and needed a parent code from the following list: 35556, 35566, 35571, 35583, 35585, 35587, 35656, 35666, or 35671.

This information was taken directly from the Med Assets coding correct program.

Can anyone offer me some assistance with this? I am new to this coding and would love some help, if anyone has the time.

Thank you,
Diana Reynolds, CPC

35700 and 35500

These are add-on codes and can only be used with the codes listed
