Can we bill 32650 and 32651 if performed during the same setting, if no why not?
 
There aren't any NCCI edits against billing those two together. just make sure documentation is accurate and there shouldn't be a problem
 
I recently went to a CT seminar and that question was brought up and I was told they shouldnt be billed together. I didnt get a chance to ask the instructor why so I thought I would ask.
 
I've read that the VATS codes are built on a hierarchy and each subsequent code automatically includes all codes prior to it. But if that were the case I would expect Medicare to have NCCI edits for them. Honestly, I don't know if that is true but this isn't a situation that we come across very often. Documentation would be the biggest deciding factor in this scenario.
