any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I have never done anything like this before.

PROCEDURE: Under general anesthesia with a laryngeal mask, the patient?s right arm was prepped and draped. This was done in ambulatory surgery. First, attention was turned to the mass in the antecubital fossa of the right arm. A transverse incision was made over the mass and carried down through skin and subcutaneous tissue to multiple branches of irregular veins. These veins were freed circumferentially and essentially it looked like areas of ectasia and multiple branches coming from a central focus. This focus was coming off a branch of the median antecubital vein. It was transected at that point and doubly ligated with 2-0 silk. The multiple branches were removed. Hemostasis was controlled with a cautery or 3-0 silk ties. The mass was removed and sent to Pathology. It should be noted that there were two areas of small 2 mm size nodules found which could be old phleboliths. These were sent with the specimen. Hemostasis was ensured. The incision was closed with 3-0 Vicryl, followed by 3-0 nylon and a dressing. The patient tolerated the procedure well and was returned to Recovery in satisfactory condition to be discharged later on today.
