i really need some help on this one. if my trauma doctors are following a patient in the hospital, is there ever a sitution where they can bill a 94003 for a pt on a ventilator. A RT at hospital also sees patient, wouldn't the hospital bill out the 94003?? help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

Not in my experience

I guess it would be possible ... however, in my experience I have NEVER known our trauma surgeons to use this code. Typically this is covered by either the pulmonologist or intensivist (if patient is in critical condition).

Hope that helps.
