I am billing the ventriculoperitoneal shunt with the code 62220 is that ok? Also adding 61215 and 61210 mod 59 for computerized guidance technique.. What do you advice?

Can you post the OP Note?
62220 is for Ventriculo-atrial juglar auricular shunt and you are mentioning Ventriculoperitoneal shunt which is 62223 and includes the whole system

Hope this helps

Post OP Dx:
1. Hydrocephalus
2. Intracranial Hemorrhage
3. Status post traumatic brain injury

Procedure:
1. Right Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt
2. Laparotomy By dr Deol, general surgeon
3. Computerized guidance technique for the placement of the ventricular catheter.

Incision was made in the right poeterior temporoparietal area. Semi-circle incision cutting down through the skin and galea. The pericranium was divided and elevated wit a Bovie coagulator, a bur hole was made with a bur hole perforator.
Dr Deol has made an intraoperative operning of the right abdominal wall.A passage was made from the abdominalopering to the supraclavicular region and a second pass fromt he supraclavicular region to the opening in the head. This pass required one additional incision on the right side of the neck. Through this passer was introduced the distal end catheter of the system.
At this point the attention was placed again in the coronial opening.
Using computer guidance technique the ventricular catheter was passed into the right lateral ventricle. A brisk flow of spinal fluid was obtained. A strata vlave was set at 1.5 level of performance. The valve was connected to the ventricular catheter at the distal tube. Free flow of fluid was obtained with pressure of the valve. At this point Dr D took the distal end of the tube and through his laparotomy while he took a seperate introducer into the peritoneal catheter. The coronial incision was closed and the opening in the right side of the neck and superaclavicular region were closed with Staples
