I need to bill an office visit in the post op period, related to the surgery, but another surgeon performed the surgery. Modifier 58 says "by the SAME physician during the post op period". What modifier would I use?
 
If the provider of service for your office visit is not a surgeon of the same specialty, no modifier is needed. If your provider is of the same specialty, then you can't bill the visit if it's related because it's part of the global package.
