Wiki Well woman copays

Is there something new with BCBS well woman copays that I might not know about??? Pt came in stating that she didn't need to pay her copay cause it was a well woman visit, it that true??

You may want to verify her benefits. Maybe her employer has chosen that she doesn't have a copay for well women exam as a benefit. It may not be "BCBS wide" type of thing.

Policy specific

This is policy specific. Last year ours stated preventive exam was co-pay exempt. All other visits $25 (except ER which is $100)

This year it's changed. Any visit with PCP is $20. Any visit with specialist is $40. (ER is still $100.)

It should be spelled out on the patient's insurance card.
