If a physician does a preventive exam but has the patient come back a couple weeks later for the PA to do the pap smear can it be billed as two seperate services? I do not feel that this can be done but would appreciate someone elses input.
 
Yes, you can. You will use the dx code for well women V72.31, then do your pap code. Well women is consider a different type of physical, it should involve a pap and breast exam. The same as you would get from a GYN
 
The provider is not really performing another visit though so the only thing I think we can charge for the second time is the Q0091 code, which most payors do not recognize.
