I am sure this topic has been covered before, but I would like some verification: When we are billing for a wellness visit, 99391, 99392, 99393, etc. and there are also immunizations that are administered, can we charge for those administration fees (90471, 90472, 90474). If visit is for a wellness, along with a flu vaccine, the coding would be as follows:
99393-25, 90700, 90471 (This is not pertaining to age or new/vs/established.)

Thanks!

I'm confused by your example here. 99393 is for age 5-11/estab but you're saying this is not pertaining to age or new vs established. The age of the patient dictates the admin code(s). Also, 90700 is not flu vaccine; it's DTaP admin to younger than 7. So I'm not sure if my answer will help you.

At any rate.. the code description for the wellness visits outlines what is included and does NOT mention vaccinations as included in this code. I would code (and regularly do code) the 99393-25, 90700, 90460 X 1, and 90461 X 2.

Hope this helps.

What if there was no counseling documented for your vaccine admin? That code (90471) is not age specific.
