We have a new pt (part time employee) coming in to see the Dr. Are there guidelines/policies/laws that we have to abide by? Do we have to bill the insurance co? Can we waive copays/deductibles? Do we treat this just like professional courtesy, which is illegal and bill/collect everything? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You do collect the copay/ deductible for employees. The only way to waive this chatge is if you have it written into you personnel policy that this will be waive as an employee benefit so that all are treated equal. Also you must keep track of all dollars waived for each employee so that it can be a taxed benefit. As a such it is considered part of the employees total gross income.
