We have a patient who had a spinal cord injury in 2018. The chart is being coded with H/O Spinal Cord Injury, Unspecified, Sequalae - S14.109S. The patient also has Disease of Spinal Cord (Myelopathy) - G95.9 and Spastic Upper/Lower Extremity Hemiparesis due to Spinal Cord Injury - G81.10. Does the sequalae code need to be removed as the patient has related current nature of injury diagnoses or does the sequalae diagnosis remain on the record as there is not a time limit? Really appreciate any feedback on this patient's record.
