Code 90889 states that it is for the the "preparation of report of patient's psychiatric status, history, treatment, or progress (other than for legal or consultative purposes) for other individuals, agencies, or insurance carriers." What exactly do they mean by "legal or consultative purposes?" What about forms for Social Security Disability Benefits? What about reports for immigraton purposes? I assume forms for the Department of Health would be covered with this code? Any help is greatly appreciated.
