Hello, i was wondering if anyone knew where i can look for CPC jobs besides Indeed or what to put in the search box. I have no experience in coding, so I know it going to take a while to get a job that will teach me. I do have the practicode i be practicing on. I already have my masters in healthcare administration and bachelor's. i also work at an ENT as an insurance verifier. I dont want to talk to patients anymore lol so really trying to find a coding job. I do live in San Antonio, TX, so job opportunities aren't that numerous.

I am having the same issue. =( I just passed the CPC exam but most employers want 2 years experience as a coder. From my research on blogs YouTube etc and from other coders you might have to start off in Medical Billing, front desk, or medical billing assistant, they’re pretty tied together until you can become a senior coder. Following on this. I too passed my exam yesterday. Congrats!! I'm concerned about the practicode as well. It's intimidating. Hopefully someone will reply but I'm going to look for jobs with the A. I was advised that smaller offices, instead of hospitals or larger corporations, will be more willing to higher someone with an apprenticeship status.

I also just passed my exam on Friday. Congrats to all! We did it. I have not looked into practicode. I would like to know what's next as well.
 
Hello everyone. I am a getting reinstated this month and I got my first job coding in a lab through networking at an AAPC meeting. I eventually moved into Physician (family practice) coding and eventually hospitalist coding. I some how became a bit of an expert in rural coding for a bit as well. Good luck!
 
Congratulations to you all on passing your CPC. You all should be very proud of yourselves. I too passed mine earlier this year in June and Am still looking for employment. It can be discouraging at times and I've lost count of how many job applications I've submitted. But I refuse to give up. I will be attending my local chapter's in person meeting soon and I'm looking forward to doing some networking. Hopefully you all can do the same within your chapters as well and who knows, maybe something will come through. Best wishes to you all.
 
Please search the forums for words such as CPC-A, job search, jobs, Apprentice, resume, etc.
There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of posts with tips and info on this topic.
@Tj.Scott67@yahoo.com b sure to highlight your degrees and experience with insurance verification. That is much more than many other CPC-A have. Highlight how your current job experience relates to coding. Don't limit searches to coding, look at revenue cycle, RCM, medical records, compliance, billing, pre-auth, scheduling, etc. Go directly to websites of hospitals and medical practices in your area, not just the "search" engine sites for jobs. Try temp and job agencies that specifically place healthcare employees. Look at large health plan sites for a "non-traditional" idea of working there instead of with a provider.

I have passed my CPC about a year ago and have been constantly looking for jobs in coding and medical billing with no luck. I was wondering if completing the practicodes and getting the A removed will help with my job search. Its so hard to get experience when no one will hire you and give you a chance. I am trying not to get frustrated but some days it gets hard. Thank you for any help.
