The patient had 71010 performed on two consecutive days (1/24 and 1/25). However, the provider is billing 71010-26 x2 for 1/25/09 as they were both "read" on this date. Is this correct? I would think that 71010-26 should be billed for 1/24/09 and 1/25/09, as these were the dates the xrays were taken?
 
The rules say bill the service on the date it was performed, in your case both on the same day. But I don't think anyone actually does that, at least not in radiology. We always bill the pro-fee date to match the technical portion.

It should be billed based only on the DOS and not based on the date in which it was read.
