A patient was in for her Medicare AWV and the physician cryoed a plantars wart on her foot. She came back a week later and had another plantars wart cryoed, same foot, different location. What modifier would I attach to the second 17110 done one week after the first?
 
If it was a planned returned for additional treatment, use Modifier 58 (staged or related procedure). If the additional lesion(s) was missed or a new one appeared and is now being treated, I would use Modifier 78 as it was not a planned procedure, but is still related to the first.
