i have a question on a patient coming in for procedure, removal & insertion of IUD, do you use a modifier 76 repeat procedure or service by same provider, or do you add the modifier 51 multiple procedure.:confused:
 
The correct coding for removal and reinsertion of IUD is 58301, 58300 w/ dx V25.13 'encounter for removal/reinsertion of IUD'. No modifier is needed. F.Y.I: Many carriers will not reimburse for both the removal and the reinsertion, so post the 58301 first (has slightly higher RVUs).
