Hi, I am new to allergy coding. I have been task to research and understand CPT coding guidelines for 95165. The documentation in our charts have a staff member (normally an LPN) document the note. With in the notes it will state:
Dr. ABC allergen immunotherapy extracts were prepared for Patient A
Date prepared/Billed: 11/13/2025
Lot Number: AA012.
Number of units of Aeroallergen extracts (CPT 95165): 40
The staff member signed the note, the MD/DO has not signed the note
I have spent hours of research for the State of NY for the scope of the licensure to prepare allergen immunotherapy vials
CMS states the antigens are prepared by a physician who is a doctor of medicine or osteopathy who has examined the patient and established a treatment plan.
Also have read that this can be supervised by the physician.
Is there anyone who can assist or guide me to the answers?
