DX: Subtrochanteric femur fracture, Failure of fixation of previous trochanteric nail
Procedure: Open reduction and internal fixation of proximal femur fracture;
Conversion to Total Hip Replacement
Physician performed an open reduction of a subtrochanteric comminuted femur fracture as well as Conversion of previous hip surgery to a total hip.
Would 27244 treatment of intertrochanteric, peritrochanteric or subtrochanteric femoral fracture;with plate/screw type implant, with or without cerclage be appropriate IF only the cerclage wires were used? No plates or screws.
