Trying to find a Coding/Billing position in Montgomery AL area seems to have disappeared (except for the temp agencies). As of Dec 2008 I obtained my CPC and I have an Associated Degree in HIM. but I lack current coding experience. So I have been agressively looking for a job in my field for 3 months.
So I was thinking, I really would enjoy working as a contractor on professional outstanding accounts.
I relocated to Montgomery from Cleveland OH in 2001. In Ohio I worked at BCBS (known as Medical Mutual of Ohio now). I started out as a claims processor & was promoted to work with IS dept.I had to know every contract the company offered along with disbursements (EOB,NOP,Remittance, check generation). I also worked for an HMO organization as a Quality Review Coord
I enjoy reviewing, analyzing and correcting denied or particially paid claims based on the documentation.
Can any one offer me any assistance or suggestions on what to do or where to go?
