How would you code the dx of venous ulcer. Three suggestions have been given which are: I'll use left calf with fat necrosis as example:

I don't think there's sufficient information in the term "venous ulcer" to be able to choose a code for the ulcer's underlying condition. The provider would need to document the type of venous disease, e.g. venous hypertension, insufficiency, varix, in order to be able to select the appropriate code.
