When documenting the length of a wound repair...is it the cm before the repair or the cm of the repaired wound you bill for?:confused:
 
Hi there,

This is the eternal question. CMS is not clear as to which measurement you would use for coding. Choose one and stick with it consistently.
 
You bill for the measurement of the wound and then the repair lenght width and depth as The surgeon is repairing the wound and making it smaller or closing it. You do not bill the closed size.
