:confused:we have a pt that is having surgery and i need to get precert for the cpt codes. The procedure is a wound debridement of muscle fascia the size is 60 sq cm the primary code is 11043 and the add on code would be 11046 which is additional 20 cm and now do i add another 11046 with modifier 51 or bill 11046 x2 and change the units for this code??? :eek:
 
you should bill 11043, 11046, 11046-59
add on codes are exempt 51, if your carrier accept units then bill 11046 x2.
