Hello,

We have been debating this for years, and we can't find any documentation to support either option.

We're a private ortho practice with our own xray machine. Our drs frequently have pts come in for xray-only appts. We're questioning how to charge them if the dr that ordered the xray (and who will dictate them and see the pt for follow up) isn't in the office when the xrays are taken. When one of these pts comes in, the front desk will put them on the schedule of whichever dr is there that day.

Does anyone know who we should charge the xrays to - the dr that reads them or the dr in clinic - and do you have documentation that we could look up??

Thank you
