Should we be using the new X_ modifiers with post op pain blocks or stay with the '59'?? Example: A femoral ISB (64448) was placed 2 hours pre-op and it was the same Anesthesiologist who provided the care during surgery. Is that considered a separate encounter and use the 'XE' modifier? OR is that considered same encounter for the procedure and use the '59' modifier? Any thoughts???
