I would like clarification on when to use z51.12. Is it appropriate to use this code for patients receiving immunotherapy for conditions such as hypogammaglobulinemia, common variable immunodeficiency, or sarcoidosis?

CPT definition is encounter for antineoplastic immunotherapy. Therefore you would use it when the immunotherapy is being given for a neoplastic indication.

Thank you. That is how I understand the code as well. I saw this code being used for the other conditions I listed before and I thought that was incorrect. I appreciate your explanation.
