In this procedure, the provider performs an open treatment of the shoulder dislocation, which is an abnormal separation of a joint. He makes an incision to open the shoulder joint and reduces, or realigns the dislocation. Also, he performs an open repair of a surgical or anatomical neck fracture of the upper end of the humerus with or without using internal fixation implants such as pins or screws.
