In this procedure, the provider enters the elbow joint and excises the radial head following an elbow injury or fracture of the radial head. These are the most common elbow fractures in adults, and can result in major disability. The radial head has a specific role of fixation in the joint. So, the decision to excise the radial head fracture is influenced by the presence of injuries and their severity.
