Summary

A provider other than the surgeon or anesthesia staff conducts neurophysiology tests, such as electroncephalography or EEG, electromyography or EMG, evoked potentials or nerve conduction study, to continuously monitor the patient during the same session as a separately reportable brain surgery. The provider performs this monitoring to make sure that patient's nervous system functions properly during the surgical period. This add on code represents each hour of the service. The provider may be remote or nearby and may be monitoring more than one procedure at the same time.
