With all the new PCI Codes I am confused on when NOT to use:
92941 - Any combination PCI during and ACUTE M.I.
92943 - Any combination PCI for CHRONIC TOTAL OCCLUSION

Maybe I am asking a silly question but aren't all PCI's done for an Acute MI or Chronic Total Occlusion? Are the other PCI codes used when a PCI is done at a different setting then a cath......later on in the day or the next day???

Anna, no, not all PCI's are performed for acute MI or CTO. Most of the ones I code are performed for a stenosis/occlusion with no mention of AMI or CTO.

HTH :)
