Dear all,

I am going to appear CPCO examination this month end, can any one suggest me the approved references. I recently purchased AAPC study guide, is it a approved Manuel to carry the exam hall?

Hello,

This is directly from the CPCO exam approved references-

Any published references are allowed, except Study Guides and any published references by HCCA

I took the exam last year and had made myself a large binder with references from the federal register, etc.

Hope this helps,
Terri

Hi Terri Feece,

This is mentioned in aapc website itself.I am asking you, is this material is allowed the exam hall or not. If you have any practice questions other than aapc kindly email me to pharm.sathya@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Sathyaraj CPC,CEMC.

The study guide and anything published by HCCA (Health Care Compliance Association) is not allowed to be brought into the exam. Essentially anything else is. I have taken the CPCO exam and have also given the exam as a proctor, and these are the very same guidelines the exam proctors follow.

I hope this helps!

I agree with your post that any reference material published by HCCA is not allowed in exam hall, but here I am going to use aapc study guide for reference during an exam.is the aapc study guide is comes under the HCCA published material?

it is my understanding that the AAPC study guide is not allowed as a reference during the exam.

Thanks you very much, may i know what kind of books can bring into the exam hall.

If you look on the AAPC website under each specific exam, it tells you exactly what is allowed into each exam. Pull up the CPCO and check out what is approved (approved manuals).
No study guides are ever allowed into any of the exams. No exceptions.
Good luck.

If there were specific "books" including the needed reference material for the CPCO; most likely it would be more than you can carry into the exam hall. I also used a large binder and filled it with pages from the federal register, OIG report, CERT report etc.
