Sometimes, a physician can make you a little crazy and I am having one of those moments and I would like to hear from my colleagues.

Re-pap for an abnormal pap on an established patient.

Diagnosis - 1 = Stable or improving condition
Data - 1 = Lab
Risk - Low = for one stable chronic condition

Which equals Straight Forward MDM (99212)

Would any of you consider a Re-pap as a worsening condition?

Thank in advance for your opinions,

I would not count as a worsening condition, unless the physician has some type of statement within the note. Just for argument sake when was the abnormal pap diagnosed? And when was the "re-pap"? Is there any clinical documentation in this pap report that the pathologist and /or the physician has compared this re-pap with a previous abnormal pap?

Just some food for thought.
