Wiki 30117 with multiple lesions coding

We have started doing Rhinair/Vivair for "Excision or destruction (eg laser), intranasal lesion, internal approach"
Our MD who performs these has coded 30117
30117
I have added mods like this: 30117-LT
30117-RT
They are denying with these modifiers.
Per our Provider: "My understanding is that we are using 30117 based on number of lesions addressed and not on it being bilateral. I was told it should be 2 line items not a single one with modifier 50 "
So what is the correct way to bill 30117 when multiple lesions are addressed?

We have billed it on two lines with LT and RT and have had no issues. We have also billed it on two lines with modifier 59 on the second line or modifier XS if the payer is Medicare and have had success billing it either way. What diagnosis code are you using?
