Patient had distal brachial embolus, entire radial and ulnar embolus. The doctor did an embolectomy of the brachial, radial and ulnar artery through one incision. Can he bill for both cpt codes 34101 and 34111.
 
Per Dr. Z:
Since this is one arteriotomy and the vessels are all contiguous only code 34111 here. We always place the Fogarty catheter in each vessel via the arteriotomy but cannot code per vessel in that case. It is analogous to doing the iliac and SFA via one arteriotomy which would be 34201 only in the lower extremity.
