If a patient is seen (separately) by an RN/NPP and the MD can the RN/NPP perform and document any of portions of the 77427 visit? The radiation oncologist performs and documents the exam, reviews port films, reviews dosimetry, dose and treatment parameters, reviews the chart prescription and treatment setup. The RN/NPP may perform and document the subjective portion of the visit (ROS, PMH, meds, treatment #,etc...). Does the entire visit have to be performed and documented by the MD?

The MD is always performing a face to face visit but can they do this in conjunction with an RN/NPP?

The NP can do the visit but the MD has to go in and approve/review what that NP had done. According to the last seminar I went to the NP are not suppose to be doing the OTV (77427) visits. They can as long as the MD goes in and reivews what was done and agrees with them while the patient is still there. Some pts may complain because they are there thinking they are seeing the MD and only the NP comes in while coming in for these OTV's.
