What is everyone's thought on where coders, billers, auditors, etc will be in the near future with AI? How concerned should we be with not having jobs or will there always be a need?
My co-worker and I were just discussing and it's kinda scary to think about.
Thoughts?

I do not think you have anything to worry about regarding medical coding abstraction & matching documentation of each provider. They will still need medical coder to review the document to ensure coding regs followed from documentation in the record for differ patients. Also some providers not that well at picking more detailed dx code or CPT but put the closest dx or CPT to what need. Keep in mind some dx medical abbreviations are the same letters but have different meanings (IE. CP can be chest pain or cerebral palsy). Also clinical terms have lot slang terms too linked with clinical name. So many rules in Dx and CPT codes per manuals. AI programming maybe used more by insurance payers to gather since algorithms probably used. Some encoders may use AI programming to check for auditing of providers notations, coders work, types of insurance denials or other different statistics of hospital or clinic setting, ETc. Also the ICD10 and CPT manuals are updated every year too.

I hope helped you understand a bit more
